I observe that I was feeling significantly more movement with this baby than I had with the first two. One logical explanation would’ve been that my uterine walls must have thinned from my previous two pregnancies, which makes me more sensitive to movement this time around. These are not those little hiccups or tickling waves kind, but they’re more like sudden jolts of double-edged sword kind of situation.
It’s not that I’m complaining because I love feeling the baby kicks, knowing that he’s moving and doing well. But there are moments when I would prefer to have some peace and quiet, because not only does it make me feel jumpy, it does have an impact on my sleep too. It doesn’t help that I’m also having severe backaches thesedays that my sleeping position has been somewhat compromised.
When I was carrying Misha, I tend to sleep on my right side because often so she kicked me around my right waist, and it’s the most comfortable sleeping position to be in at that point of time. When I was carrying Mika, I somehow prefer to sleep on my left side. This time, I’m stuck to sleeping facing up, because I felt less kicks when I am in that position. My doctor told me that it’s best to always sleep on my sides especially now that I’m already into my third trimester, but the kicks and aching hip bones are not making me comfortable at all.
Anyways, I have about ten more weeks to go before my edd, and right now I’m doing my best to enjoy every bit of movement as much as possible, as this could potentially be last I will ever feel like this.
