05.03.2011 – Seeing that wordpress.com has been down for the past 12 hours, I’ll be posting on my Tumblr account until they resolve the issue.
My bro, Musli, was one of the many who had waited anxiously for the ‘A’ level results to be out yesterday afternoon (04.03.2011). According to my mom, he had received a call from his school sometime around mid-day informing him that Radio Warna 94.2FM would like to conduct an interview with him at 3pm. Mom was super excited and badly wanted me to record his interview when it gets aired.
I wasn’t sure if they were going to air him live so I tuned in and waited from 3pm (having quickly fixed my laptop speakers) but NOTHING! So I sms’ed him asking what the interview was about, and he said to tune in much later that day to Berita (news) at 5pm and 7.30pm.

HAHA!!
To those who missed Berita on Radio Warna 94.2FM at 5pm and 7.30pm yesterday, here’s a recording I took at the latter time, thanks to a last-minute installation of FreeCorder4.

To Musli: Despite the fact that your penjodoh bilangan CMI* :p, we are still very proud of you! <3 Love, Your family.

What’s worse than an ah-pek being knocked down by a reversing mini-van? Him being thrown back and landed just inches away from your car bumper – with a loud thud! (and you witnessing it!)
Okay, so it wasn’t me who witnessed it. But it was a first-hand account of what P saw right outside of Maybank along Jalan Sultan Road the other day. The poor ah-pek was about to jaywalk/cross the road from between two parallely-parked vehicles. The vehicle behind was ours, and the one in front was the mini-van, which had parked at a slight distance from our car. The ah-pek was trying to cross the road – obviously looking to his right most of the time – and not realizing the mini-van reverse. Who would have thought that it would reverse all the way and not stop before hitting the poor old man?
The ah-pek ‘flew’ and fell right in front of our car bumper. P quickly got out to help. Surprisingly, the ah-pek seemed alright. He got up by himself and brushed off at his arms. When asked if he’s alright, he said that he’s ok and doesn’t want the ambulance/police to be called. The driver of the mini-van, all pale-looking, also got out, and asked him the same thing. The ah-pek replied back as cool-y as he had replied us.
P turned to the mini-van driver, and slammed, “Uncle, you’re lucky he doesn’t want to call the police. If it had been me, I will not hesitate”. The driver again asked if ah-pek needed help, but ah-pek reassured that he’s fine. With that, the van driver just drove off.
What the hell…? (O_O)
We were travelling along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) yesterday when we were caught in a massive traffic jam. Had we known it earlier we would have taken the KJE-SLE-TPE route from Yew Tee all the way to Tampines. It would have been a long-way about back home, but we would save ourselves the time from being stuck in the dreaded road congestion.
Somewhere near Lornie we saw a signboard stating PIE closure and that all vehicles going towards Changi should exit Lornie Road. First we thought the closure was due to some whos-who big guns taking the PIE route and escorted by traffic police. Then we thought it could probably be due to some fallen tree making all lanes impassable. After nearing the exit, we saw blinker lights from police cars on both directions, and an ambulance travelling on the other direction. Then surely some accident had happened. To what degree we didn’t know for sure.
This morning, it was all in the news.

Thankfully, there wasn’t any fatality. But I shudder at the thought of that slab hitting a person, especially had it hit a motorcycle rider or pillion. *shudders*
It was just last week he was hanging out at our place. I can still remember his comments to Misha when she was dancing to ‘Jojo’s circus’ on Playhouse Disney. “Wah, joget gelek-gelek dah macam Shakira lah…”. On that same day, he had presented me with an Armani perfume. But today, we came to know of his passing.
Nin, we all miss you as a friend, and surely Misha misses you as her godfather. May Allah bless your soul…Rest in peace, dear friend…

Here’s something you don’t normally see from your living room window.

A black car (I think it is a Honda), had mounted onto a curb and side-faced oncoming traffic. Not exactly sure how it started, but I do hope there isn’t any casualty.
