I’ve never felt so tense and tired all my life. The preparations are a hell lot of work. And this time I do mean physical tiredness as opposed to the previous months of squeezing my brain cells in planning the whole thing.
For instance, there was the gift-making session for the groom-to-be (as mentioned in my previous post), Dental appointment on Tuesday, Outfit/Gown final fitting on Wednesday, Spa/Massage and Facial session on Thursday (plus all those spring-cleaning of the whole house, rearrange furniture, painting the bedroom walls and ceiling, scrubing the bathroom walls and floor (my least favourite that one), wrapping those 1000++ door-gifts, etc …) I am looking forward to spending a quiet time relaxing myself after all these hardwork. And Yati is kind enough to spend a few nights over to help out *muahs to you Yatz*. Even my siblings are also having a few cases of sleepless nights with the wardrobe clearing and such.
Oh well, 2 days to go. Hope all is fine.
Ps: Again, more pics were taken. I shall upload them soon after the whole wedding thingy ends (if I’m not too tired)
I am a very happy camper right now! Taufik has been crowned our very first Singapore Idol! Our very own Singaporean Malay guy did all of us proud – I’m so very proud of him! *yayness* I have voted perhaps about 40 times today, just a measly fraction of a total three freaking million votes in total! Wow!
Anyways, I just want to highlight that the gift-creation (hantaran) is in the making, with the help of Liza and Yati. Thank you very much, guys! You are such a big help. And us being such ameteurs at this, I’d say us three did a pretty good job ourselves. I’d never thought we had the craftiness in us! Hee. So far six gift-trays are completed, and still four more to go and that has to wait till Friday though. I got pictures, but I’m not putting up as yet. It’s a surprise
The brain is very exhausted right now so I’ll just summarize a few things that had happened last week.
1) P got into another accident on Friday, but not too serious this time. He was right at the end of a domino-effect collision at the SLE in the heavy rain. Really it could have been avoided. He was already at home back from work, then work called – urgently, asking him to return to the office. He refused because he knows the road can be dangerous, but they insisted. After the collision, the first thing they ask when he call was, “Will you still be able to reach the office on time to hand over the documents?” *rolleyes* Sometimes I feel some bosses just don’t have that slightest bit of compassion in them. And you just gotta love his reaction. “F*ck you!” *lol*
Now he thinks of quitting the job.
2) On Saturday, I bought myself a pendant necklace for $25, and a pair of matching earrings for $15! They are really pretty I couldn’t resist *grins*. Then I shopped for 2 new pairs of 3/4 pants, which, believe me, took me a whole 2 hours just to get those of the right size. I think I’m gaining some weight around my thigh area, I hate it! Oh, and I also bought a whole bunch of toiletries for myself and a pair of leather slippers for P.
3) Lots of friends got married on Sunday, which coincidentally (or not?) falls on a very nice date, 04/04/04
I requested for a namecard from one of the Dee-jays who happens to be Husen Saaban (one of the local commedians here), maybe I thought of acquiring his services for mine *g* He’s funny, really!
4) Juve lost 3-2 to Inter – away. One of Juve goals was scored by an Inter player, and the other goal was scored on the 93rd minute by Di Vaio. Woohoo, I’m really excited now…*bangs head on keyboard*
I am feeling really bored. Thank goodness avatar81 & Josh were there to keep me company on MSN for a little while. *grins*
Oh, and for those who haven’t seen…this is absolutely wicked! *lol* Nothing beats the original though.
Give the guy a break. Puhlease! *slaps self*
Anyway, a few things which I should’ve posted yesterday, as well as the day before but too lazy to…
On Saturday, Mom & Dad, P & myself went to look for bedroom furniture at Harbour Front. It was a gift from them to us, for his (soon-to-be ours) home. It’s a complete bedset with mattress, 4-door wardrobe, dressing table with portable mirror, and side tables all made of pine oak.
Thank you so much momsy and dadsy! *muaks*
Ah, and I receive a red rose from P the same day! Almost forgotten it’s valentine’s day, and I didn’t get him anything! *bangs head really hard on thick wall!*
Thank you P, dear…I shall make up for it!
The same night I went to my friend’s wedding at Tanglin Halt Rd. I really like the food, especially Lauk Ayam Merah (putting aside the bird flu issue for once). Hee, I actually took a second serving ^_^
Sidenote: P’s friend (Harry) looks disturbingly like Thierry Henry *eek* No kidding! And the name sounds too damn similar too..
Dammit! All this planning is giving me a big headache (and heartache too).
1) I went to make reservations for the grooming package earlier today at Fatimah Mohsin: The Wedding Gallery. Read the rest of this entry »
Argh, what a lovely feeling it was to have part of your skin chopped off! On the index finger to be more precise. Half of my nail is broken, and part of the skin beneath it is, well, gone! I somehow managed to stop my blood from gushing profusely out of my flesh. Definitely not for the weak-hearted. And damn, typing with one hand is such a difficult task.
Let’s see…I think I’ve used up the whole packet of tissue, 3 pieces of alcohol wipes and changed plasters three times (I ran out of bandages actually). Anyway, the cause of it? Rushing my way through cutting up the baguette piece I bought from Delifrance. Ugh, serve myself right! Luckily the knife wasn’t that sharp, otherwise I would’ve chopped off my whole fingertip!
Enough of the gooey talk, and on to more serious matter. P’s family came by today to discuss the wedding plans. To cut the whole story short, we have set the wedding date on a December weekend this year (Yay!!). On which weekend, it all depends on when my sister completes her exams (I have to be considerate too, you know!) My grandma wanted it much earler, perhaps sometime in June. But I think that is still too soon because we still need to arrange for:
1) Catering (which would most probably be Caca or Wak Esa because of family relation).
2) The dais and decorations (still undecided).
3) The kadi (most likely Ustaz Salim, also because of family relation).
4) Prepare the list of guests and invites (perhaps about 1000 will do).
5) Make-up artist (Mak andam still undecided).
6) Have yet to sign up for the marriage course..*heheh*..
7) The mas-kahwin & gifts
8) Register at Registry of marriages (ROMM)
Hmm…that is a hell lot of work/decisions there! Whatever it is, I’m not gonna tailor-make my wedding dress, since I’m a very very fussy girl! And I don’t want to end up with something different from what I have initially imagined/planned.
Okay, I have better worked on point #4 to get things started.
This isn’t confirmed yet, but it’s most probable that P’s family is gonna come over to my house sometime in February to discuss the wedding plans. Things are getting serious here, and I’m getting excited and partially nervous all the same.
